Scripps-Howard is a syndicate owned by The E. W. Scripps Company. E. W. Scripps was an American newspaper publisher and founder of The E. W. Scripps Company, a media conglomerate, and the United Press news service. In 1922, E. W. Scripps formed Scripps-Howard which replaced the Scripps-McRae League of Newspapers.
